Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman endorses Sam Shoge for Kent County commissioner

Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman has endorsed Sam Shoge for Kent County commissioner, supporting his campaign focused on stronger schools, economic opportunity, housing, and the needs of families and seniors.

“I’m honored to have Comptroller Lierman’s support and grateful for her confidence in my campaign,” Shoge said. “We share a commitment to making life more affordable and using reliable data to guide public decisions. I want to bring that same approach to county government, with a clear focus on improving residents’ lives.”

Lierman joined Shoge in Chestertown for a Community Conversation on Affordability, where participants discussed housing, childcare, and everyday expenses facing Maryland families.

Shoge has drawn inspiration from Lierman’s emphasis on public research and accessible data. He recently published the Kent County State of the Economy report and launched a housing dashboard to help residents understand local conditions and inform discussion about the county’s future.

A lifelong Kent County resident, small business owner, and former Chestertown Town Council member, Shoge is running to strengthen schools, grow the local economy, expand housing opportunities, and support vulnerable residents.
